Owen, a six year old boy has been killed in a hit and run accident.
The driver, who apperantly 'mowed' aover the young boys body and killed him, has been hunted down in a police search.
His dad hold him in his arms while crying that Owen shouldn't leave this world, and that Owen is is his little soldier.
The boy was hit when he and a friend crossed the road.
Owen died on fathers day.

I do not really agree with killing someone and then running away, not to say I agree with killing in the first place.
But running over a boy and then to drive on seems really cruel. I will never understand why anybody would do such a thing. Besides that, I do think that this article does not focus enough on the boys own responsibility.
Sure, he was only six, but if you're old enough to play on your own out of the sight of your parents, you should be responsible enough to look both ways before crossing. If he was not responsible enough to do this then his parents should have watched him better.
Not everything should be blamed on the driver, how cruel his behaviour has been. Everybody also carries there own responsibility.

I do not agree. The children should be attentive while crossing the street but they are only six. I know children who are almost six and they do not have the capability to watch over themselves on the street. The parents are also busy handling many things in the house. Parents cannot watch over their children all the time when they play, especially if they have more children or other responsibilities. The driver is probably an adult who should watch while driving.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenIf you hit someone with a car, then the least you can do is stay with the victim.. not only for the families' sake, but for the driver as well. If you leave the victim like that, and the police finds you, it'll only get more difficult for yourself. I do think that parents need to look after their children a lot more, especially if there is a big road around.
